DONE DONE DONE

The experiences of creating the four podcasts for this class, from filming to editing have been interesting.
I know I have learned more than I expected about putting together just a few minutes of video and information, and I have attempted to use iMovie to appropriately edit and create videos that 'flow.' For this podcast the filming was amazing- we used Liz's prompter idea- GENIUS! Also, after creating three other videos it was nice to know how much information was necessary for 7-10 minutes of video.
So, back to the filming - Brandi, Jannibah and I filmed at my apartment this time and we set up lighting and checked glare, shadow, sound, color, etc. We were trying to create a good environment while following the suggestions we have received throughout the semester. We had a GREAT time. The three of us are lucky to enjoy each other which makes filming more fun and tends to relax us. I hope that comes through in this podcast.

Editing- I forgot my MyBook at home yesterday, so I uploaded my footage, began to edit -- I had 6.15 minutes put together so nicely and BAM iMovie shut down.... sad times because I had FAILED to save my work. It was my fault for not saving- the computers fault for RANDOMLY deciding to SHUT DOWN-- I know these things happen, but this computer has done this to me three times- that is a pretty high ratio considering I only use the computer once a week. Anyways- so I re-load the footage and begin again- I was very upset/tired and flustered, but knowing that all of you (my classmates and friends) are forced to watch my video I did do my best to make it flow smoothly.

I hope you enjoy the discussion on the internet, RSS feeds and agenda setting.

Oh- and NO out-takes this time either- filming went so well that I didn't have any... sad times! Those were my favorite part-

Here it is, finally, my 4th podcast. ENJOY IT!

Ashley, I really enjoyed your podcast, finally i got a very clear and straightforward explanation of what is RSS feeds. The study is very relevant. I am not sure if you are going to implement it - but it would be intriguing to know the results !!!
Congratulations on graduation!

Ashley, this was a great final podcast. The topic is very interesting and one with a high importance in today's society. You covered everything very well and gave a clear and concise message about what you were discussing. Now just think only 3 weeks and we are outta here!!!

Great introduction music and the sound quality is very good. Your proposal is excellent, and your presentation is well paced. The random transitions between podcast segments were a nice touch, and the slide background is pleasing to the eye. Congratulations on your graduation and good luck! I think your threesome did a good job on all your podcasts.

Ashley,
Nice job on podcast #4. I know that you had several technical difficulties (but you couldn't go out without all the hassel could you?!?!). Anyway, nicely done after so much drama. Your transitions were good as well as your content. I wish that we could see just one more - ah, maybe some other time... jk. Great job and I think you learned a lot!

Ashley--

I like your topic. I think it definitely examines agenda-setting on the Internet and takes into account the control individuals now have in terms of the content the read/consume. Your final podcast was also well done. The slides and editing helped engage the viewer and added visual interest. Well done and congrats on graduating!

Ashley,

Great podcast. Very informative and you clearly define exactly what you are going to do for your final paper. I think your topic is very interesting and I am curious to hear about your results.

I like your lighting a lot. And the framing is great.

While I like the variety of transition usage, there were a couple that make you appear twice on screen. Also, the first one your transitions cuts off part of what you are saying about your methodology; I wasn’t sure if there was more, or if you finished. Also, this may just be me, but I would like to see you listening at the camera more. Have you tried putting the laptop closer to the camera? Possibly underneath?

Another thing that might help viewers is to have more basic info slides. You have a couple, but having a few more might help…but again, that is just me.

Again, I look forward to hearing about the results (or at least the information you gather) and congrats on graduating!

Good job! I liked it a lot. The jump cuts were a little distracting, but not too bad. You could have put title pages in to avoid those if it was appropriate. The information was clear and well-structured. Way to go girl, you are done!

Ashley,

With those technical difficulties, you did great job. This podcast ties with theoy that you explained on your previous podcasts.

This podcast also well-organized with your research perspective. I hope you'll find the answers from this study.

There were some scene that audio just disappeared...I think that might be happened in the editing. Besides, you did great!

And...congrats on your graduation!!!

The only thing I noticed that messed up on your podcast was your first video transition. You were in the middle of speaking when it minimized and zoomed to the left of the screen. All in all who really cares though. Your research proposal was interesting and I liked the use of blue in your slide transitions and thank you for not using the new orleans blues song in your podcast. I'm not hating on anyone who used it but it just seemed like a lot of people chose to use it for this last podcast. With that said everything flowed nicely and you spoke very clearly. Good final podcast and congrats on graduating.

Scott.

Ashley,
I think you did a great job of explaining what RSS feeds do. I think your final podcast was a well produced package (good sound, good framing, nice graphics). You made some great progress on your podcasts this semester.

Hi Ashley, first and last time commenting on your podcast so I'll be nice...j/k. I liked your topic and I think it is especially relevant given today's online staggering growth. I imagine you will find some intriguing results if you do conduct the study.I liked the lighting and sound in the room and you explained the topic well and were clear. I would have lied to see some slides that recapped what you spoke about because I'm challenged that way and can't retain a lot of information at once. Aside from that, I think you are ready to be unleashed into the world of editing. Ha! Great job!

Ash, you're done! Lovely job, especially nice considering all the drama and difficulty you experienced to get it done. I think it was informative, interesting and easy to watch. Bravo!

You have an interesting topic, and I think the theory you selected works well with your study. You presented the information in a clear and helpful manor. The slide transitions were good to help us follow all of the information you presented. The lighting was good, and your voice projected very clear. Overall you did a good job on your last podcast.

I thought you did a great job on this last podcast. The lighting was great and the transitions were nicely done. The variety of transitions spiced it up a bit and made the podcast flow well (definitely a great way to cover up jump cuts and mess ups--i would know!!) Your audio was well done and I liked the intro music, it caught my attention quickly! Your topic is very interesting and actually gave me a much better idea about RSS feeds. It is obvious that you know quite a bit about your topic. Overall, well done and congrats on your upcoming graduation!
